Stork Club - Oakland, CA

Jayde, a local rockin' chick who happens to be cool enough to have lots of amazing friends, fell into the hospital with a respiratory ailment that almost got the best of her. But luckily she pulled through. However, she was left with a lot of bills and rent to pay, and thus was born the benefit show we put on last Sunday.

The Stork Club hosted this all-day event. With a lineup of a dozen bands, and the backing of the chicks behind the Voice Is Venom girl rock website, this show was a fun spirited show of commeraderie and music.

Don't know how the word got out about us, but when we volunteered for the show, they wrote back saying they'd heard about us, and were looking forward to having us on the bill. How nice.

So despite the fact that Karen had been sick all week, and was coughing up her lungs on stage, Beautiful Engines pulled through, and got a lot of nice compliments about the set.

It felt like we had tapped into a whole new audience, and met some really sweet folks along the way. So thanks for coming out and supporting. And thanks to Voice is Venom for having us. And get all better, Jayde!
