The Don - Visalia, CA

Well, Beautiful Engines finally hits the road. Our first stop was The Don, in Visalia. Small town. Bored youth. And one very cool guy named Boomer and his daughter running an all-ages venue for bands. Thank god.

The kids come out. They really show support. And are always open to new sounds and styles coming through town.

We had a great response from the crowd, and got to play with our groovy SF buddies, Wire Graffiti. Thanks to Katherine for setting up the show! Other bands were the Visalia locals Peel Apparition. It was their first-ever show together, and the sweet lads totally pulled it off. It helps to have a cute, indie-skinny lead singer too.

Finishing off the night was the local favorites Hostile. These guys were super heavy, dark, metalic, rockers, complete with lots of hair, sweat, testosterone and screaming growling vocals. Not what I would listen to at home, but impressive that someone could actually sing like that for extended periods of time. It made my throat hurt just listening to 'em. And they had big energy. Always a plus.

Thanks Boomer. You rock.
