Voodoo Lounge - San Francisco, CA
It's been a while since this show happened. And so this might not be an entirely accurate recount of the events, but whatever. If the turnout was any indication, you proabably weren't there anyway.
Let it be known that clubs that serve sushi AND have live bands, are just too few. And ones that have live bands and serve really GREAT sushi I don't think actually exist. Now why is that? Sushi is really up to the fish. If you get it really fresh, it should be good. Right? So why isn't it always good? It's not bad at the Voodoo Lounge. But it's not really GREAT. I don't know. It's such a clever concept. And it has the potential to make a very memorable night. Can someone work on that? I sometimes hire myself out as consultant for all things cool and good and fun. So just drop me an email.
Ok, I digress. The show was ok, I think. Zipnada, Love Kills Love, Wire Graffiti, and Beautiful Engines. That was the lineup I believe. Although it changed several times up to the last minute, so maybe they all weren't there. But we were. And Wire Graffiti was there. And they are cool folks and great musicians and their drummer is really cute, so that part I'm sure of. At the very end of the night there was a chick band that played. And although I was being unsupportive and only thinking about my sushi in the front of the house that I was eating with the cute drummer from Wire Graffiti, I do believe they were pretty good. Were they Love Kills Love? Hmmm...
Ok, I probably shouldn't say much more about the evening, cuz I'll just be making it up.
Thanks to Wire G for getting us on the bill with them.
U.P.D.A.T.E.!!!
So my lovely bass player informed me that my memory is weak at best, and the last band of the evening...the band of chicks...was called Honeyshot. I'm not sure how that all came about, but I've been told it did.
