Hotel Utah - San Francisco, CA
Bob-o-magic and Karen's BIG FAT BIRTHDAY BASH!! Yeah, that's right. Another year on, another beer down. But we'll just keep rockin' into our twilight years, huh bob-o?
Hotel Utah was full of friends and general good peeps that night. They even stuck around through the long evening to hear us at the end.
Starting off the evening was San Francisco's own nephews of funk - Dr. Chocolate. They're brown suga an' spice - but if you don't treat 'em nice, they'll put you on ice. Ha!
Bob-o-magic was on next. He's so funny, cuz the guy writes these tragic, brooding, introspective songs, and yet sometime he claims that he was going for an uplifting party song when penning it. You can't escape your destiny, Bob-o. You're dark, and mysterious. Go with it.
We brought up the rear that night. It's always tough to go on so late, especially when Karen's birthday is involved. Cuz by the time we go on, she's had shots bought for her. She's had beers of her own. And she's had plenty of time to come up with lots of stupid shit to do during the set. So she apologizes for the goofy stuff, and made up words. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Thanks for having us Bob-O. Happy Birthday!
