16th and Mission Bart Station - San Francisco, CA

Mark and I haven't played outside in a while. Mostly cuz when we do, it seems like a hassle, or it's freezing cold, or no one can hear the vocals, or the neighbors complain, or the cops show up, or the...well, you get the idea.

But no longer,my friends. Cuz we just had the best time out at the ol' Bart Station on Saturday. It was easy, sunny, loud -but not too loud, neighbor-free, cop-free and best of all, we played with the Two Gallants and Full Moon Partisans! We each brought a little bit of gear, and together it made one little band setup. Sharing. Caring.

And being outside, especially there, you see a myriad of folks milling together. The kind of mix you'd NEVER see at a club. There were a ton of people that actually came to see the show as well. That is very cool. Maybe someday they'll know the words to OUR songs too.

We also all had the honor of having Mr.Vanilla Fudge stand in unexpectedly on backup vocals for every band. This dude looked like a squished version of Samuel L. Jackson's character in Pulp Fiction. And whether his amp was on or not, our man just yelled and shouted his heart out. I think it gave the whole thing a little more street cred.

Thanks to Adam and Tyson for setting this up, and having us join in the fun. Hope you all enjoyed it!!

Oh, and you should check out Full Moon Partisans, cuz they were really cool. Quirky Beckish lyrical style with simple early rock backings. Think the Strokes, but more mellow and less "on" in a good way. Well, that's not a very good description. But they got people wriled up and hollerin' the word, and if I knew them, I'd be hollerin' right along.
