Balazo Gallery - San Francisco, CA

Last time we played the Balazo Gallery, we were called jimmyjack, and almost no one was there to see us.

This time, we were called Beautiful Engines, and there were LOTs of people there. Man, what a name change can do for a band?! You all should try it.

Actually I don't think it had anything to do with anything, as we got a call the night before the gig asking if we'd like to fill in for a band that couldn't make the show.

"Sure", we said.

Damn good thing we said "sure", cuz we'd be kicking ourselves if we missed out on this excellent evening. Tons of people there. Lots of boozin' and shmoozin'. And although you couldn't see the bands play unless you were right up front or seven feet tall, the energy that night was ELECTRIC!! Zap! Pow! yeah!! 650 volts straight to the heart, baby.

For those of you who don't know, The Balazo gallery is an art space in San Francisco's Mission district. They hold art shows with live music and a bar in the back. It's totally chill, and fun and the most unstuffy art gallery around. And if you go on a good night like this, you're in for a treat. Bring your friends and your appetite for margaritas, mojitos and music. You'll get full doses of all.

Thanks to the other bands that night for lettin' us crash the party. It was a taste of what is in store at the Clevergirl show at El Rio on Wednesday. Come see Train Wreck Riders, Full Moon Partisans and Karen's other quirky girl band hoop it up again.

pictures to come.
