Warehouse Party - San Francisco, CA
A warehouse party in the middle of San Francisco somewhere. By the Hemlock, you say? Hmmmm......strange.
Sure nuff. $3 gets you in the door. Then there are kegs and other stuff. There are people who live there. They put on shows with their friends. And everyone's invited.
This is a warehouse. It's big. It's cement, and if you want to chill...get there early and grab a couch or a cinder block. But you'll see bands you never knew about. You'll meet people from all walks of life. And it will be fun.
We played with our buds the Two Gallants. They never fail to impress. We've heard and played with Tyson and Adam now many times....but they never get old. And the more these songs nestle in your soul, the more you're body longs to sing along. The other band was LInes of Sight. These guys were very cool.
You don't hear music like this being made in SF much. Home of the bad cover bands and glam rock, lost is the art of melodic, lush, yet rockin' songs. Lines of Sight has brought it back to us. Their front man, although he may need a valium or two, does a really sweet job of vocal harmonizing with himself using some fancy little gadgets. The drummer is spot on. And their sound grooves you, and never shows off. Thank GOD. Hopefully this sort of thing will be infectious. Nobody cares how fast you can play...if you're just gonna play crap. Take notes people. Melody is not a sin.
Charel and Mpo came to see us. That was sweet. And it was great to see you guys again.
People said we made a lot of noise for a two piece. I think it was a compliment. At least that's how we took it.
Thanks for the invite to this party! It was excellent.
