Joel's Birthday Party - San Francisco, CA
San Francisco is COLD. Damn. House parties abound, and just as the sun goes down, and everyone is having a good time, the freekin' fog rolls in, the wind starts howling, and the bands on the patio start freezin' their butts off. I suppose we should be used to it by now. But we're not. Good thing we play loud, hard and fast. It usually doesn't take long to build up a sweat. Especially at a party. It was the audience that had to weather the frigid air. But they did, and we appreciate it.
Just for the record, we did have the choice of playing inside or out. But after hawling Mark's rig up and down lots of little stairs, we decided to play right where we were.
So, this one was for Joel's birthday. I'm not even sure where or when we first met him, but he's part of the whole Gallants/Castor Oil crew. Super nice guy. Big house in the Haight, and lots of friends. It was really good to see some of the people we haven't played with or hung out with in a while.
There was beer. And cake. And bbq. Lots of bands, including the Analyzers, Folie A Deux, the Two Gallants and us.
As the evening set in, we took it inside and the living room was packed with couchers to see the one and only Two Gallants play. A great end to a great day.
Thanks Joel. Happy Birthday.
