Mark's Famous Mission House Party - San Francisco, CA

Yep, Mark broke them down. The roommates couldn't resist his charm and those puppy dog eyes. They agreed to have the party. Now you think "what's the big deal? Why wouldn't they want a party?" Well, this ain't no ordinary party. There's serious prep involved. Not just getting the keg, but booking the bands, getting the djs, setting up the sound systems (yeah, that's plural), rearranging the house to accomodate the masses, and making the absynth.

But it was worth ALL the effort. There was people galore. Bands abounding and beer a pounding.

Since it was Mark's party, we of course got to book all the entertainment, and so we got our friend Tait from Junk Sick Dawn to start off the evening with punk rock ukulele and wierd guitar oddities. Then we got even wierder with the crazy Jesus/walkman dude substituting as lead singer (talker) for Bevelaqua. Denis was indeed missed, but thank you, Jesus, for filling in. Mke and Zack you still rocked it!!

Then we cracked out the secret weapon that ALWAYS gets the blood flowin' : The Two Gallants. there's no need to go off on how great these two are. We've gushed in many previous installments of our show histories. But suffice it to say, they lived up to their growing reputation as the pride of the Bay Area.

We hit the floor as the crowd's mood and drunkenness peaked, and despite Mark's distortion pedal coming unplugged almost every song, (due to too many people DANCING!!!) we played it fierce and furious and happy as hell. Thanks for helping make it one of the finest house parties we've played yet.

The party continued to escalate from there as DJ MS45 took it downstairs to liven up the speakeasy, and then several other djs got everyone dancing even more, and well, like the good rappers say,
"the party don't stop 'til 6 in the mo'nin". But really, this one went 'til 8:00am.

So take THAT snoop dog.

Thanks to Freya, Ya, Peter and Mark. It was most excellent.
