Josh and Corrine's wedding - Kelowna, BC
(josh was our guitarist when we were called jimmyjack)
A 1200 mile drive up to and through beautiful British Columbia, brought Karen and I to Kelowna and the sunny hillside Zawaduk estate. The place is perfect 'Josh' with panoramic mountain and lake views complete with fire pit, ample Vandura parking and a 'salty-dog' inspired jam shack. Further, Corrine has crafted a most beautiful and deliciously bountiful garden from seed... so beautiful, in fact, that's where the two got married.
After a brief morning rain, the skies cleared way for a fantastic day in the sun. With tables, tents and the DJ set up early (only hip-hop and jazz, per JZ's requests) the morning unfolded easy as we smoked and drank and ate peppered bacon and egg sandwiches as guests began to arrive.
The early afternoon moment grew near. Josh, dressed in dashing black with a traditional white and red-gold embroidered Ukrainian shirt made by his family, was even more impressive with his wing-tipped shoes... never has he worn a pair. Corrine, arriving stealth from her friend's home magically appeared from the house and walked gracefully through yard down to the garden, slowing her father's stride all the while.
The vows were short and sweet... the papers were signed... the food was rich and plentiful... Zaria was happily passed around and around... the instruments came out as the sun had set and music by fire light was played well into the morning.
The two are a very happy, inspiring couple... we we're honored to be there. ~M
